Crochet Plush Strawberry Cow

The first pattern I shared on here was my Plush Strawberry Bee and decided to create a Plush Strawberry Cow! The only difference with this cow is the spots aren’t round but are heart shaped.

You Will Need:

  • 5mm crochet hook.
  • Chenille chunky yarn in white, pale pink and dark pink.
  • Plastic safety eyes.
  • Stuffing.
  • Scissors.
  • Needle.

Abbreviations:

  • sc – Single Crochet
  • slst. – slip stitch
  • mr – magic ring
  • ch. – chain
  • dc – double crochet
  • trc – treble crochet
  • inc – increase
  • dec – decrease
  • st. – stitch

Legs (Make 2):

Start with Dark Pink

Round 1 – ‘6sc into a MR’ or if you don’t like MR ‘ch.2 and 6sc in first ch.’ (6)
Round 2 – ‘inc in each st’ x6 (12)
Round 3 – ‘1sc then inc’ x6 (18)
Round 4 – BLO sc in each st. (18)
Round 5-6 – sc in each st. (18)

Switch to white

Round 7-12 – sc in each st. (18)

Fasten off the first leg but not the second as you will be continuing with this leg.

Round 13 – ch. 3 sc in the next 18st of the first leg, sc in the next 3ch, 18sc in the second leg, sc in the next 3 ch. (42)

Round 14 – sc in each st. (42)
Round 15 – ‘6sc then inc’ x6 (48)
Round 16-18 – sc in each st. (48)
Round 19 – ‘6sc then dec’ x6 (42)
Round 20-22 – sc in each st. (42)
Round 23 – ‘5sc then dec’ x6 (36)
Round 24-26 – sc in each st. (36)
Round 27 – ‘4sc then dec’ x6 (30)
Round 28-29 – sc in each st. (30)
Round 30 – ‘3sc then dec’ x6 (24)
Round 31 – ‘2sc then dec’ x6 (18)
Round 32 – ‘sc then dec’ x6 (12)

You are now continuing and crocheting the head. Stuff the body before continuing. Insert safety eyes between round 42 and 43 with 8 stitches between them

Round 33 – inc in each st. (24)
Round 34 – ‘3sc then inc’ x6 (30)
Round 35 – ‘4sc then inc’ x6 (36)
Round 36 – ‘5sc then inc’ x6 (42)
Round 37 – ‘6sc then inc’ x6 (48)
Round 38 – sc in each st. (48)
Round 39 – ‘7sc then inc’ x6 (54)
Round 40-43 – sc in each st. (54)
Round 44 – ‘7sc then dec’ x6 (48)
Round 45 – sc in each st. (48)
Round 46 – ‘6sc then dec’ x6 (42)
Round 47 – ‘5sc then dec’ x6 (36)
Round 48 – ‘4sc then dec’ x6 (30)
Round 49 – ‘3sc then dec’ x6 (24)

Start stuffing the head.


Round 50 – ‘2sc then dec’ x6 (18)
Round 51 – ‘sc then dec’ x6 (12)
Round 52 – ‘dec’ x6 (6)

Fasten off and sew in the ends.

Arms (Make 2):

Using dark pink.

Round 1 – ‘6sc into a MR’ or if you don’t like MR ‘ch.2 and 6sc in first ch.’ (6)
Round 2 – ‘inc in each st’ x6 (12)
Round 3-4 – sc in each st. (12)

Switch to white.

Round 5-13 – sc in each st. (12)

Stuff the bottom of the arms lightly. Fold over and 6sc through both sides. Fasten off and leave tail for sewing on either side of the body below the head.

Ears (Make 2):

Using white.

Round 1 – ‘6sc into a MR’ or if you don’t like MR ‘ch.2 and 6sc in first ch.’ (6)
Round 2 – ‘sc then inc’ x3 (9)
Round 3 – ‘2sc then inc’ x3 (12)
Round 4 – ‘3sc then inc’ x3 (15)
Round 5-10 – sc in each st. (15)
Round 11 – ‘3sc then dec’ x3 (12)
Round 12 – ‘dec’ x6 (6)

Do not stuff the ear. Fold over 3sc through both sides. Fasten off and leave tail for sewing ears onto each side of the head.

Horns (Make 2):

Using light pink.

Round 1 – ‘6sc into a MR’ or if you don’t like MR ‘ch.2 and 6sc in first ch.’ (6)
Round 2-7 – sc in each st. (6)

Stuff lightly and fasten off leaving a tail to sew horns to the top of the head.

Muzzle:

Using light pink.

Chain 7.

Make an oval starting from the 2nd ch from hook, work on both sides of the chain.

Round 1: From the 2nd ch from hook: inc, 4 sc in 4 st, 4 sc in last st, turn (on the opposite side): 4 sc in 4 st, inc (16)
Round 2: inc*2, 4 sc, inc*4, 4 sc, inc*2 (24)
Round 3: 1 sc, inc, 7 sc, (1 sc, inc)*2, 8 sc, inc, 1 sc, inc (29)
Round 4-5: sc in each st. (29)

Stuff lightly and sew onto the bottom of the face just under the eyes.

Hearts (Make 2):

Round 1 – ch2. 10sc in first ch.
Round 2 – ‘ch3, 3trc in the same st’, ‘3trc in the next st’, ‘1dc and 1hdc in the next st.’, ‘1sc in the next 2 st.’, ‘1sc, 1dc, 1sc in the next st.’, ‘1sc in the next 2 st.’, ‘1hdc, 1dc in the next st.’, ‘3trc in the next st.’, ‘3trc, 1dc in the last st.’ slst in the first st.
